Why mandi prices move, what “today’s rate” actually means, and how to read FreshVeggie’s market-price page.
Vegetable prices in Pakistan are not a supermarket sticker. They follow the wholesale mandi: weather, truck arrivals, what is in season, and how much a city cooks that week.
Tomatoes bruise and spoil quickly, so a short supply spike shows up the same day. Potatoes and onions keep longer, so their rates move more slowly — until a harvest gap or transport delay hits the mandi. That is why a “fixed monthly price” is rarely honest for fresh sabzi.
Our public market-price page lists the selling price we offer on FreshVeggie, the unit, and when that rate was last updated. Those figures come from the same market-price records our team uses after the morning shop — not from invented numbers.
